PPC Advertising or SEO for the same keyword? Google Says Use Both
A new study from Google’s lead Researcher has confirmed the not so obvious, a website needs paid search results even if they are in the number one organic search result position. A previous study had shown that removing the paid ads would result in a 89% drop in clicks, and this study wanted to understand why. First the study concluded organic search results do not appear on the first page, with the associated paid ad. The study showed that only 9% of the time does a paid search ad show up with an organic result on page one of a search.

Secondly, even if you are the number one organic search result, you will still get more clicks if you have an accompanied paid search result. When the Researcher tested a number one organic search result without the paid search result there was a 50% drop in clicks. Therefore it is safe to say that even if you have the number one organic search results it literally pays to have an accompanied paid search result.
