The National Low Income Housing Coalition is a Washington DC based housing advocacy organization dedicated to achieving public policy that insures low income individuals are provided with affordable living options. NLIHC works to develop a large community of supporters and educate lawmakers on the importance of good housing policy.
The National Low Income Housing Coalition wanted an advocacy website design that would effectively communicate their mission to lawmakers as well as educate the community on their impact in helping low income families find affordable housing options, in hopes to increase support through online donations and membership.
Alliance developed a custom website for NLIHC that allowed visitors to easily explore issues and encourage them to take action through an online donation or requesting membership information. The new website also provided a more organized content structure featuring news, current issues, and ways to get involved such as local events and webinars. Incorporating more calls to action and social media communication also proved to be an effective strategy for engaging visitors online.
Alliance’s website design strategy helped to increase online donations for the National Low Income Housing Coalition by 35% as well as reduce visitor bounce rate by 20%.
